Pizza Base
400g flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp sugar
7 g of dried yeast
200ml warm water
Tomato Sauce
2 tsp of oil
1 small onion
3 tomatoes
2tsp of water
Pinch salt
1tsp mixed herbs
1 tsp oregano
Other toppings
Grated cheese
Your choice: sweetcorn, olives, peppers, mushroom, spinach, pineapple
Method
Preheat oven to 180C
Pizza Dough
- Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl
- When it has formed a dough, cover with cling film, place in a warm place and leave for an hour
- It should have doubled in size, cover side with flour and knead the dough. Divide into two balls and roll out.
- Cover base with tomato sauce, and toppings of your choice, then cover with grated cheese and place in oven for 15 mins.
Tomato sauce
- Peel and dice onion and tomato’s
- Fry onions in oil, when they start to go brown on edges
- Add chopped tomatoes, herbs, water and salt, bring to the boil
- Simmer, stirring occasionally for 10 mins
